Introduction: The Difference Between Knowing About Jesus and Knowing Him Personally
Many people know the name of Jesus, but do they truly know Him?
The Pharisees knew Scripture but rejected Jesus.
The rich young ruler followed the commandments but refused to follow Christ.
The demons know who Jesus is—but they do not serve Him. (James 2:19)
Jesus Himself warns:
"Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 7:21)

In Acts 19:13-16, a group of men tried to cast out demons using the name of Jesus—but they had no real relationship with Him.
"One day the evil spirit answered them, ‘Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?’"
The demons attacked them, because they had no authority in Christ.
Why?
✅ They knew about Jesus but did not belong to Him.
✅ They used His name but did not have His Spirit.
✅ They wanted His power but did not submit to His Lordship.
The lesson? Knowing the name of Jesus without true relationship is powerless.
2. Why Knowing Jesus Personally Is Urgent
"Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." (1 Peter 5:8)
Many people think they are spiritually safe because they attend church, pray, or read Scripture. But Satan is looking for those who are spiritually asleep—those who claim Christ without truly walking in Him.

✅ The enemy blinds those who do not fully surrender to Jesus. (2 Corinthians 4:4)
✅ Only those who are truly in Christ can stand against him. (James 4:7)
The Bible warns of a time when many will fall away because they only had surface-level faith. (Matthew 24:10-12)

✅ Being filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8)
✅ Living in surrender, not just discipline (John 15:4-5)

4. How to Deepen Your Relationship with Jesus
Many people struggle to connect with Jesus personally. Here’s how to go deeper:
✅ Seek Him daily in His Word.
John 5:39-40 – Scripture leads us to Jesus, not just knowledge.
Read with a heart to encounter Him, not just for information.
✅ Pray with expectation.
Jeremiah 33:3 – "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know."
Speak to Him as your Lord, your Friend, and your King.

The Holy Spirit brings life to your faith and gives power to walk in Christ.
